18 June. CONTIN sprung the shock result of the season so far in the Tulloch Homes Express Ross-shire Amateur League with a 5-1 home victory over Avoch on Monday night.
Robbie MacDougall gave Avoch the lead in the 25th minute when he powered home a header.
But Contin levelled 10 minutes later when Ewen Dance was first to react after a Kieran Fitzpatrick shot was parried.
Fitzpatrick was a bit fortunate to get on the scoresheet with a cross-cum-shot which sailed into the net four minutes from the break.
Contin grew in confidence and Michael Manson added a third goal on the hour mark with a shot from just inside the 18-yard box.
The goals kept coming and Dance was on target again when he rounded the goalkeeper to score in the 75th minute.
Manson rounded off a good night's work for Contin with a super strike from the edge of the area.
Mid Lairgs United produced another clean sheet in a hard fought 1-0 win over Black Rock Rovers at Inverarnie.
Jamie MacKay scored the winner midway through the first half when he held off a challenge and fired the ball past Rocks' goalkeeper Andy Maitland after being put through by Tommy Campbell.
United should have made the points safe when they were awarded a penalty kick in the 67th minute when MacKay was felled in the box. However, Gavin Nicolson skied his spot kick.
Rocks best chance of a leveller arrived three minutes later when Donald Sutherland fired wide of target from close range.
